A North Shore Engagement Session

December 28, 2019

Kayla is the epitome of a strong woman. She only gets to see Jack every few months while he completes his Military training in San Diego and all over the country. I know they say that distance makes the heart grow fonder, but no one wants to be away from their fiance’ for months at a time.

While Jack is completing his training, Kayla is home teaching special education and trying to plan her wedding with her fiance on the other side of the country. Imagine talking to every vendor for your wedding day and then having to facetime in your finance to include him. But Kayla is doing an amazing job.

Jack was home on leave this past Christmas season. Kayla wasn’t expecting a surprise proposal. Jack planned every detail to reflect who they are as a couple and who Kayla is as a person. Jack and Kayla went for a hike on an early December morning. They love working out together and planning hiking trips. He got down on one knee in the middle of the hike and asked Kayla to stand by his side for the rest of his life!
I photographed Jack and Kaylas engagement only a few days later. I think I was even talking to Kayla on Christmas Eve! They wanted to get their engagement photos done before Jack had to fly back to California. She called and booked that night and we shot their session two days later.

Jack and Kayla had a beautiful, warmer-than-normal December golden hour session. I mean look at that glow. We had fun venturing around the north shore of Long Island. We laughed together and popped some bubbly in celebration.

I am so excited to be photographing Kayla and Jack’s wedding this December. I pray we have a beautiful golden warm day as we did this past December! Congratulations to Kayla and Jack and I hope you get to take extra trips to see each other this year.
